If you want to email data from within REsearch Minnesota™ via Microsoft Outlook, you must have Microsoft Java Virtual Machine installed and if you have Sun or IBM Java running, you must disable it. To check whether you already have Microsoft Java Virtual Machine, in Internet Explorer, select "Tools," then "Internet Options" from the menu bar. In the Internet Options pop-up window, click on the "Advanced" tab. Scroll down to see if there is a section labeled "Microsoft VM." If so, you already have the program installed (make sure the checkbox for "JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled" is checked). If not, follow the "Option One" instructions below to download and install the program. Also, while on the Advanced tab in Internet Explorer, scroll down to see if there is a section labeled "Java (Sun)" or "Java (IBM)." If so, uncheck any boxes in that section that are checked. Any changes you make on the Advanced tab will require you to retart your computer for the changes to take effect.
Some users may have trouble with the Java VM software link above. If you experience any problems with the installation, click here for an alternate version and follow the rest of the steps outlined above.
